Boxing in the ring – a spectacular evening at the Karlsruhe Christmas Circus

On 14 December 2024, the Christmas Circus tent in Karlsruhe, Germany became the venue for an extraordinary boxing event: ‘Boxing in the ring’. In the midst of the festively lit circus atmosphere, surrounded by an enthusiastic audience, high-class fights took place – with a special focus on two outstanding athletes: Sarah Bormann and Daniel Dietz, who were in the ring as brand ambassadors for SAUER SYSTEMS. This unique event was organised by none other than Rainer Gottwald, who used his experience and flair for unforgettable staging to put on a top-class boxing spectacle.
Boxing up close – the special atmosphere of the circus ring
There was tension in the air as soon as you entered the circus tent. The special backdrop, the subdued lighting and the narrow rows of spectators created an intensity that is almost unrivalled in the boxing world. Every punch, every movement could be felt up close – the fans were closer to the action in the ring than ever before. It was an atmosphere full of energy, in which the emotions were transferred directly to the audience. An arena where wild animals usually do their rounds now became a stage for boxing at the highest level.

Sarah Bormann triumphs – WBO World Minimumweight Champion title
An absolute highlight of the evening was Sarah Bormann’s title fight. The exceptional athlete competed with the SAUER SYSTEMS logo on her waistband against Argentinian Jennifer Meza. From the first bell, Bormann showed why she is one of the best boxers in the world. She dominated the fight with impressive technique, speed and precise combinations.
Round after round, she collected valuable points and hardly gave Meza a chance to turn the tide. After ten intense rounds, it was clear: Sarah Bormann secured the WBO minimumweight title and was crowned world champion. An impressive victory that once again underlined why she is the figurehead of German women’s boxing.

Daniel Dietz – A heavyweight with a future
This evening was also very important for Daniel Dietz. The up-and-coming German heavyweight was facing a huge opportunity: a victory over Granit Shala would have catapulted him into the world’s top 10. It was an intense, hard-fought fight in which both opponents gave each other nothing.
Dietz showed all his strengths: explosive punches, stamina and the irrepressible will to win. But in the end, a narrow points advantage decided the match in favour of Granit Shala from Munich. Despite this defeat, Dietz remains one of the greatest hopes in German heavyweight boxing.

SAUER SYSTEMS is firmly behind him and is convinced that his time will come. This defeat is just one stop on his way to the top – and we are already looking forward to his upcoming fights and triumphs.
We congratulate Sarah Bormann on her well-deserved world title and look forward to Daniel Dietz’s future career. One thing is certain: the story of these fighters is far from over – and SAUER SYSTEMS will accompany them on their way!
