An unforgettable adventure: The Gottwalds celebrate in Thailand

The Gottwald family has embarked on an extraordinary journey! Boxing promoter and ‘Promi Big Brother’ winner Rainer Gottwald, his wife Tik and their son Baron and daughter Mona-Lisa celebrated a very special event: A traditional Thai wedding in Tik’s home village. This emotional celebration was accompanied and documented by cameras from the reality format ‘Goodbye Deutschland’ – a memory that will last forever!

A long-cherished dream comes true

A decade ago, Rainer promised his wife that he would say ‘I do’ to her a second time in her home country. Now the time had finally come – with a ceremony that could hardly be surpassed in terms of pomp and significance. But the preparations were quite something!

Rainer, who as a successful boxing promoter is used to well thought-out organisation, faced the challenge of adapting to the Thai mentality – a mixture of serenity and hospitality. It became particularly amusing when he tried to control a guest list with admission wristbands from his boxing events. But Tik remained steadfast: ‘Everyone is welcome in Thailand! In the end, Rainer had to give in to the traditional sense of community – and quickly realised that this was exactly what made the moment so magical.

Fun, chaos and unforgettable memories

The filming was an exciting experience for the whole family. Son Baron, who also works at Sauer Systems, was particularly enthusiastic. But out of sheer joy, he had a serious mishap: the suitcase containing the valuable wedding paraphernalia and money was left unattended!

What followed was a mixture of frantic searching and fits of laughter – a scene that both the film crew and the family will remember forever. Such unforeseen moments are what make the documentary so special: they not only show the beauty of Thai culture, but also how the family sticks together in every situation.

A new chapter in life with a firm anchor at Sauer Systems

This wedding not only marks a symbolic new beginning for Rainer and Tik, but also a change in their lives: they are planning to settle down in Thailand and move into a house of their own. But even though they have found a new home, the connection to Sauer Systems remains strong – after all, Rainer and Baron are still important parts of the company and want to sell the innovative products in Thailand too – after all, the demand is there.

This story is an impressive example of how tradition, family and professional success can go hand in hand. Thanks to the documentary, a chapter full of emotions, surprises and laughs has been captured – memories that will perhaps amuse future generations of the Gottwald family.

One of the highlights was watching the episode of Goodbye Germany together with many customers, friends and family at the SAUER SYSTEMS Christmas party on 6 December 2024 at the Winterdorf Walldorf.
